As we navigate the United Nations Decade for Family Farming 2019-2028 (UNDFF), the importance of integrative and holistic approaches to research and innovation becomes paramount. GFAR's CA on Participatory Research and Family Farming is at the forefront of this evolution, championing the drive to align research and innovation systems with the goals of supporting resilient and inclusive family farmers, and subsequently achieving the SDGs.
This CA emphasizes collaboration. By bringing together family farmer organisations (FOs), researchers, and extension agents, we aim to foster a deeply participatory process that taps into diverse sources of knowledge. From sharing established experiences and knowledge across scientific disciplines to valuing indigenous and local knowledge, the main goal is to cultivate an inclusive environment for family farming research.
Discuss and work towards creating a supportive framework for Family Farming, rooted in community-based innovation and collaborative spirit. Together, act and shape a future where research truly serves the family farming community. ????
